Grant Zhou

Grant is a Canadian resident and the founder of Highgo Software North America, where he leads the company's PostgreSQL development team consisting of members from both North America and China. In addition to his role at Highgo, he serves as the secretary of the International Consultant Committee for the PostgreSQL China Association and is the Organizer & Asia Liaison at PostgresConf.

Prior to his current position, Grant worked for over a decade at Alcatel-Lucent (Nokia), where he gained extensive experience in high availability, real-time telecommunication systems, database technologies, and Unix/Linux programming.

Under Grant's leadership, the Highgo team recently announced the release of the first version of IvorySQL, an open-source database that includes Oracle compatibility features built on PostgreSQL. IvorySQL can be accessed at IvorySQL.org.

In this talk, I will be discussing the concept of serverless computing and how it's changing the way we develop applications. We will dive into serverless applications, including an introduction to Neon and its architecture. I will walk you through how Neon is implemented using code and demonstrate a few use cases. By the end of this talk, you will have a better understanding of serverless computing and how Neon can be used to develop scalable, efficient, and cost-effective applications.
